Welcome to the 1898 Waverly Inn
ABOUT US
1898 Waverly Inn is the oldest surviving inn in Hendersonville. This inn was built at one end of Hendersonville's wide tree-lined streets when guests walked on boardwalks and oil lamps were at the street corners. We have been making guests feel comfortable since they arrived by train or stagecoach. But we have been quick to embrace modern conveniences! We've had electricity available since 1903 and telephone since 1904! Relax in the ambiance of the past with our southern rocking chair porches, in-town convenience, mountain flavor and first-class amenities at 1898 Waverly Inn.

What Our Guests Say:
- Perfection! We spent 4 days at the Waverly Inn and enjoyed each day even more than the previous one. The inn was beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming. Tracey and Mike were the ultimate hosts anticipating needs and offering individualized recommendations for activities as well as dining. The breakfasts were outstanding (blueberry pancakes were a personal favorite) and the wine and cheese in the late afternoon a perfect addition to relax and rehash our day. Although the inn is old, the accommodations were modern with top notch amenities. The location is ideal for walking into the town for dinner or just to visit and window shop. Everything about Waverly Inn was perfect and I recommend it highly.
- Southern Hospitality at its Best! The 1898 Waverly Inn is a wonderful, charming bed and breakfast. We found it totally by accident - but VERY glad that we did. Cassie and Denise were most welcoming and efficient in checking us in, and serving us our meals. We have stayed at several other B&B's in the past, but few have offered the ambiance, warmth and friendliness that we found at the Waverly Inn. We look forward to bringing our grandchildren for a night or two in the future!
- Best B&B EverI have stayed in a few B&Bs, and this was by far the best. The social hour had an incredibly thoughtful and impressive list of local craft beers, breakfast was so delicious, beds were comfy, and the staff was very friendly (shoutout to Cassie and Daisy for being the best!). On top of that, the inn is a short walk to the quaint downtown with delicious restaurants and lovely shops. My sister had never stayed in a B&B before, and she is sold on using them for future visits!
