Spa Therapist Bios

Mandi Keener, LMBT

"With a B.A. degree in English from Lenoir-Rhyne College, I utilize my love of the written word with the science of massage to educate clients. The more we know about the capability of the human body and brain, the better able we are to facilitate wellness.

"I have been doing massage for seven years and have received training in over twenty different modalities with advanced training in Oncology Massage, Dr. John Upledger's Craniosacral Therapy, Advanced Bodywork and Structural Rebalancing, Healing Touch and Deep Tissue Therapy.

"I take pride in getting to know my clients. Each session allows ample time for consultation, so that the time you spend on the table can be intentional and deliberate."

Karen Cash, LMBT

"I am 23 years experienced and trained in a multitude of Therapeutic Techniques.  The techniques I most frequently integrate into my massages are Swedish, Neuromuscular Therapy, Trigger Point, Onsen and Craniosacral Therapy, but I can pull from various other trainings to help meet your needs.

"Whether it's stress relief, pain management, or wellness maintenance, my goal is for you to receive the best bodywork for your ultimate health."

Suzi Johnson, LBMT

"Over the years I have taken many classes to improve my technique. Center for Massage in Asheville 1999-2000, Hatha Yoga certified in 2000, Kundalini Yoga IKYTA 2011

"As I work on someone I integrate some of these onto your massage:  Lite to deeper pressure along with aromatherapy, energy healing and lomi lomi. Mostly I feel that it is from my years of experience and intuition that I can better serve each client. Making sure you have the most healing and relaxing massage possible; I feel I have served my purpose."

Stacey Galloway, LMBT

"Why do I do what I do? I believe Michael Bridge said it better than I ever could so I am going to borrow his words. 'When our eyes see our hands doing the work of our hearts, the circle of creation is completed inside us, the doors of our Souls fly open and Love steps forth to heal everything in sight.'

"By nature, I am a kinesthetic person. This means that touch and movement have always been my primary sense for understanding the world around me and my place in it. In my late 20s I was drawn to yoga and after a few years of practice I decided that I really wanted to learn a lot more. So I moved to The Himalayan Institute, a yoga education and retreat center in PA, where I immersed myself in spiritual community and the study and practice of yoga philosophy. From there I spent a year in Southern California working on organic farms as a member of WWOOF prior to moving to the mountains of WNC to make a home. It was in Asheville at the Center For Massage and Natural Health that I became licensed as a massage therapist 3 years ago. Today, I live and practice in Hendersonville, absolutely in love with the work and continual learning that are part of my profession. I wholeheartedly welcome the opportunity to work with you in finding a sense of greater ease, well-being, and overall connected-ness in your body!"

Joanne Goodwin, LMBT

"Why do you do what you do now?" is what I often hear.  I spent years working in the phone company and getting massages to take away the stress. When I left I decided that since I loved getting massages, I would also love to give them. And I do!

In today’s very stress-filled world, relaxation, I believe, is key to keeping it simple. There’s no way to avoid stress, but I can help you manage it.

I graduated 3 years ago from Massage school (in CT) and fall in love with massage every single time I give one.  I love helping others to relax and getting rid of their headaches and stressed stiff muscles.  I start with a light touch, going deeper as the muscles relax (therapeutic depth) and increase your range of motion. I can also incorporate aromatherapy, hot stones and deep tissue as need be.

Headaches? Stiff shoulders? Migraines? I have specialized training in that as well.

I have worked in a number of different day spas and incorporate whatever is needed to help you relax and become a less stressed individual.
