Flame Azalea Bush: Rhododendron calendulaceum is one of the most spectacular wildflowers in our area.  The flowers are up to 2 1/2" across. They are a Rhododendron in shades of orange, ranging from yellow to brilliant red. They bloom from April to June.

They are called "flame" because the  buds look like a candle flame before they open.

Look for them in deciduous forests and on the edge of the forest.

Please call 800-537-8195 or 828-693-9193 to reserve your room.
