Hendersonville offers several area wineries that have tasting rooms and some also offer tours of the vineyards. Make sure to take a blanket for a picnic lunch and wear some comfortable shoes.

DuPont State Forest Waterfalls & Lake

Order a picnic lunch from the Inn the day before (you can even order when you make your room reservation.). Take your hiking boots (and maybe a bathing suit and a beach towel in the summer) and drive out to DuPont State Forest.

Asheville River Arts District & Folk Art Center

The Asheville River Arts District (ARAD for short) is a day trip in itself if you love different art mediums and meeting the artists. The ARAD neighborhood sits along the French Broad River and is home to more than 165 artists with working studios spread out in 18 turn-of-the-century industrial buildings. (Please be aware that not all studios are open every day.

Chimney Rock Park & Lake Lure Area

Enjoy Chimney Rock Park and all it has to offer. There are some great hiking trails and the views from the top of the chimney are great year round. There are some nice shops and a couple little eateries in the town of Chimney Rock then continue on to Lake Lure to the beach or the marina for a boat tour of Lake Lure.
