The Biltmore House is the largest privately-owned house in the United States with four acres of floor space and 252 rooms. Wander the 2.5 acres of manicured gardens. Or hike the nearly 22 miles of well-maintained trails on the 8,000-acre Biltmore Estate Grounds. Take as much time as you would like exploring three floors of vintage clothing, accessories, art, and furniture on a self-paced, self-guided tour. See original art by Pierre-Auguste Renoir and John Singer Sargent the way it was lived with by George and Edith Vanderbilt. The basement includes an exhibit on the history and innovative construction methods of the Biltmore House.
Waterfalls
Explore beautiful Western North Carolina during your visit to the 1898 Waverly Inn!
Our guided hike to one or more amazing waterfalls is followed by a gourmet picnic lunch from the Waverly Kitchen. A visit to Western North Carolina simply is not complete until you've visited a few of our hundred plus area waterfalls.
Tours depart at 11 am from the Waverly and last approximately 4 hours including travel time. Hikes are easy to moderate and can be customized for your level of fitness. Rain checks offered when weather is excessive.
